Contract Full Time
Job Type Permanent
Salary £30,153 - £33,437
Making sure that Lincolnshire’s 700,000 residents are kept informed about our services is not an easy task. This is one of the challenges for Lincolnshire County Council’s communications team, who also keep over 4,000 members of staff up to date with key council information. We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team.
Ready for the next challenge? Talented communications specialist required.
We have a wide range of communities in Lincolnshire – from coastal and rural towns and villages, to city dwellers, old and young, with many different cultures and backgrounds. We need to make sure they are engaged and well informed about the services and support that are available to them.
This is where you come in. You would take an active role in planning and co-ordinating integrated communications campaigns (internal, external and digital), ensuring that residents, service users and stakeholders are engaged and well informed about the work the council is doing.
You will offer strategic and tactical advice, guidance and expertise to senior politicians and key officers on media, communications and marketing plans.
Working flexibly to a high level within the council, you will support service areas to deliver their strategic objectives and service plans, while protecting and enhancing the council’s reputation.
You’ll have to react quickly to tight and changing deadlines and priorities – this is a great opportunity for someone with innovation, drive and ambition, someone who thrives on the pressure of juggling numerous communication tasks.
On a practical level, the successful person must have:
- proven practical experience of communications activities and planning
- a high level of creativity to develop innovative communications
- diplomacy, tact and political judgement
- A first degree at 2.1 level or above
- A professional qualification eg. CIPR, PRCA or NCTJ
