Asda claims to sell cheapest Lincoln petrol

Cheap fuel: Asda says it will beat the price of all petrol stations in Lincoln after it cuts its prices this weekend.

Supermarket giant Asda will be cutting its fuel prices by 3p from June 25, meaning their prices for unleaded petrol will be 4.5p under the average for Lincoln.

The cuts are due to a drop in wholesale prices, and will mean that motorists will pay no more 130.7p per litre of unleaded and 134.7p per litre of diesel.

According to the Petrol Prices comparison site, the average price for unleaded petrol in Lincoln is 135.2p per litre and 138.2p per litre for diesel.

The Lincoln branch of Asda is located on Newark Road in North Hykeham, and is one of ten petrol stations in the city area.

The second lowest rates in Lincoln are the stations at Morrisons, Sainsburys and the Lindum Service Station, which all charge 133.9p per litre of unleaded.

Asda, unlike other supermarkets, applies a national price cap when it reduces its petrol costs so all 187 its petrol stations will be adopting the new pricing.
