Manga Magic to visit The Collection

Manga madness: The Collection will be hosting a Manga activity and film day next week.

The Collection museum in Lincoln will be hosting an activity day with a difference next week, called Manga Magic. The Collection will host the event on July 29, 10am to 4pm, and is sure to bring fun to everyone, not just Manga fans.

There will be two showings of Anime film Ponyo in their AV Theatre at 10.15am and 1.15pm. Ponyo, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, follows the story of a goldfish wanting to become a girl after meeting a boy. The animation won the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year in 2009.

There are also plenty of Manga-based activities throughout the day, including Manga mask-making, cartoon candles, and monster mouths. The Collection also encourages people to add to the giant comic wall. Activities are either free or £1.

Similarly, the graphic novel exhibition Silent Witness: Graphic Novels Without Words will be running until August 30.
