Fresh face: Blinc’s Nicki Gray was elected as Lincoln Business Club’s new Chairman.
The Lincoln Business Club welcomed Nicki Gray as their new chairman. She is taking over after Eddie Strengiel stepped down from the post due to work conflicts. The club offers networking opportunities for local business and has over 600 members.
Gray, who was elected to the post after being the club’s secretary, is carrying lots of emotions about taking on the position: “I am very sad to see Eddie go, and on behalf of the club’s members I would like to thank him for all his hard work,” she said. “Without Eddie the club would not be as successful as it is today.”
“As a councilor my duties have increased somewhat and I now sit on a number of committees that take up more of my time, which was one of the reasons why I decided to retire as the chairman of the Lincoln Business Club,” Strengiel explained. “Another reason is that I have been in the role for six years now so I felt it was time to let someone else have a go,” he added.
Gray said that she is ready to get started and continue the work of the Lincoln Business Club, under Eddie Strengiel. “As Chairman I want to build on that success and get more involved in the issues affecting local business people such as the transport links between Lincoln and London.”
