Radio 1 stars to treat university freshers

Freshers’ lineup: Radio 1 DJs Zane Lowe and Greg James will entertain crowds of new students at the Engine Shed this September.

With over 20% more students coming in through its doors this year, the University of Lincoln is bringing to the Engine Shed Radio 1 stars Zane Lowe and Greg James to entertain freshers next month.

Zane Lowe (pictured) will perform at the Engine Shed on Thursday, September 23, as part of the DJ Hero 2 Tour. Tickets are expected to sell out fast, so keep an eye on the Engine Shed’s website for availability and pricing.

New Zeeland-born Zane Lowe (37) presents Radio 1’s evening show, where he plays a variety of alternative music. He also presents the MTV Rocks show Gonzo, and has previously entertained crowds at the Engine Shed in 2007 and 2009.

Following Lowe’s act, Radio 1 DJ Greg James will host the Up! club night at the Engine Shed on Saturday, September 25. The 25-year-old, who hosts of the afternoon Radio 1 show, also played music at the Lincoln club last year.
