Squash club to raise money for charity

Charitable cause: A Lincoln squash club will be holding a competition to raise money for the Royal Artillery.

A squash club in Lincoln will be holding a tournament this week to raise money for the Royal Artillery.

This is the second fundraiser for the Royal Artillery that the Wragby Road Lindum Squash Club has done, called the Royal Artillery Lincoln Challenge.

This year, there will be 50 players from eight teams taking part, with some travelling from as far as Loughborough to raise money.

The charity event on September 25 was organised by Nigel Jubbs from the club, who served in the Royal Artillery for 22 years.

“I found it only fitting to continue that link after leaving the Army in 2007,” he said.

“We’re delighted to have so many people taking part, and I’m personally very pleased that the club have nominated the Royal Artillery to be our charity for this event in the future also.”
