Lincoln Odeon to host Wild West

Odeon’s opera: Lincoln will show another operatic masterpiece this month after the success of a previous screening.

Lincoln Odeon will be holding two screenings of Puccini’s opera, La Fanciulla del West, performed by The Netherlands Opera.

Lincoln’s Odeon cinema is one of 70 in the UK that will be hosting the Wild West masterpiece, which can be watched on November 15 (7pm) and November 16 (1pm).

La Fanciulla del West tells the story of Minnie (Eva-Maria Westbroek), a kind woman living among miners in a western gold-digger’s colony.

Two men fight for Minnie’s love: corrupt sheriff Jack Rance (Lucio Gallo) and AWOL criminal Dick Johnson (Zoran Todorovich). While they fight for her affection, she struggles to maintain her morals in a man’s world.

The show’s singers and music by Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra are conducted by Carlo Rizzi.

The event follows the successful screening of Mozart’s comedy opera Così fan tutte at the Odeon in September.
