A new Thai restaurant has opened in Lincoln on Brayford Wharf North. It was refurbished for £35,000 and specialises in traditional Thai cuisine.
All the six employees are Thai, as are the imported uniforms and all the food on the menu, which is cooked using traditional Thai recipes.
This is the second Thai Sabai in Lincolnshire, with another smaller branch in Sleaford. The new restaurant, which was previously called Thai One On, switched ownership in February.
This is the third Thai restaurant in Lincoln, with Thai Chaing Mai and Thailand No. 1 being the other two. As well as being an eat-in restaurant, Thai Sabai also has a take-away service.
With its ties with the Buddhist culture, the restaurant was blessed by monks ahead of its grand opening. They travelled from a monastery in Birmingham to bless Thai Sabai.
Jiraporn Rawstone, Co-owner of Thai Sabai, said “We had a great opening night and had a good response from the Lincoln community. We are seeing more and more interest as the days pass.
“Due to the success of our Sleaford restaurant, we had the opportunity to open another branch here in Lincoln. We have even had regular Sleaford customers travelling up to check out the new premises.
“There is quite a large Thai community in Lincoln and a lot of them have shown interest in the our food. They enjoy our menu because all of our recipes are sourced with traditional ingredients.”
