A recycling and rendering factory in Skellingthorpe caught fire on August 15.
At around 6.22am, fire crews attended A Hughs and Sons on Jerusalem Road after reports of a factory on fire. Five fire engines and 25 firefighters attended the scene.
Eyewitness reports state that there were “two large explosions” just before the fire started.
The cause of the fire is still to be confirmed.
A Hughs and Sons is an animal by-product and cooking oil rendering factory, recycling the products to create biofuel.
Two fire crews and a hydraulic platform crew were on the scene, using two main jets and breathing apparatus.
Fire was contained in a 10 by 10 meter factory unit and two trailers.

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has confirmed plans to jet-wash blocked gullies in Leadenham following persistent flooding, which has left residents and businesses in constant fear of property damage during heavy rainfall.
The council intends to jet the A607 outside Leadenham Post Office as an urgent measure to mitigate ongoing flood risks, with a full clean scheduled for January. The announcement comes after a plea from Leadenham Parish Councillor Martyn Everett, who highlighted significant flooding along Sleaford Road.
