— Update on August 22 @ 10.07am: A third man was arrested in connection with the assault on the 17-year-old youth on Browning Drive, Lincoln.
He is a 31-year-old local man. He and the other two 16-year-old suspects were interviewed at Lincoln Police Station.
They have since been released on police bail to return to the police station at a later date after further enquires have been carried out.
The injured youth remains in the Hallamshire hospital, Sheffield, where his condition is improving.
Lincolnshire Police are investigating after a 17-year-old teenager was assaulted on Browning Drive in Lincoln.
The incident was reported to the police at around 00:20am on Sunday, August 21.
The teenager was taken to Lincoln County hospital with a serious head injury.
He has since been transferred to the Hallamshire hospital in Sheffield for treatment and his condition is serious.
Two local youths both aged 16 have been arrested in connection with the incident. They will be interviewed at Lincoln Police Station.
The investigating officer is Detective Sergeant Nicola Templeman of Lincoln CID, she is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact her via 0300 111 0300.
