The Board of Directors of Lincoln City Football Club announced the appointment of David Holdsworth as the club’s new first team manager.
The appointment comes after the Imps sacked Steve Tilson after just under one year at the helm of the club, which was relegated to the Blue Square Premier League.
David Holdsworth (42) has agreed to a contract which will run until the end of the current season.
“He is an experienced manager at Conference level and was the most suitably qualified of all the candidates that were interviewed for the position,” the club’s chairman Bob Dorrian said.
“We’re extremently happy to have David on board and wish him every success here at Sincil Bank,” Dorrian added.
Holdsworth, a former professional footballer and manager, had his contract with Mansfield Town cancelled by mutual consent in November 2010, less than two years with the club.
His twin brother Dean is also a footballer turned football manager, now managing Aldershot Town.
