Two men assaulted in group altercation

Assault investigation: Police are appealing for information following a group assault on the High Street.

Two men were assaulted in a group altercation on the High Street in Lincoln at the corner of St. Benedict’s Square on January 15.

The incident took place at around 1.45am, when a group between four to six men were involved in an altercation with a group of two men and two women.

The two men with the women were assaulted. The offenders then ran off, it’s believed in the direction of Wigford Way.

Two of the offenders are described as wearing dark tops and jeans, and another offender wore a light coloured top and jeans.

One of the men attacked, who was aged 50, sustained facial injuries and suffered from a broken nose and bruising.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the incident.
