New traffic signals for Washingborough Railway Bridge

New traffic lights: Work to replace signals at the Washingborough Railway Bridge near Lincoln will begin lasting 3 weeks.

Works to refurbish traffic signals at the Washingborough Railway Bridge near Lincoln will begin on Monday, February 27, lasting 3 weeks.

The existing traffic lights are over 20 years old and are at the end of their maintainable life, said Tim Clark, principal engineer.

“We will take this opportunity to install a more sophisticated system.

“The new traffic lights will be installed as quickly as possible to help keep motorists on the move,” Clark added.

There are no road closures or diversions planned and Lincolnshire County Council informed nearby residents of the work.

Temporary traffic lights will be in use so some delays are expected. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
