Video: Students film Full Council meeting

Full Council filming: A group of journalism students from the university filmed a Full Council meeting for the first time ever.

A team of students from the University of Lincoln brought television cameras to a Guildhall council meeting for the first time on March 6.

The students from the Lincoln School of Journalism and LSJ News, filmed the entire Full Council meeting on Monday evening, which you can watch online.

The meeting discussed whether £4 million should be used to bring Lincoln out of the recession with a number of projects, as well as passing a slight increase in council tax for 2012/13.

Filming will be a possibility for Full Council meetings in the future too, in order to increase public participation in proceedings.

You can watch LSJ News’s videos of this week’s proceeding below.

Future meetings will be filmed in 10 minute chunks, to allow residents to choose which issues they tune in to.
