Keen or upcoming gardeners can get some expert advice next week in Lincoln as part of National Gardening Week.
To celebrate the national event by the Royal Horticultural Society, Lincolnshire Co-op will be holding a series of events at its Home Store on Tritton Road.
Events will begin on April 19 until April 22, between 10am and 4pm, and are designed for all members of the family to enjoy.
On April 19, experts will show you how to attract wildlife into your garden. Plus, anyone who buys a bee-friendly plant will receive a free jar of Lincolnshire honey.
For the environmentally aware gardener, on April 20 a demonstration will explain how to use old wellies, crates, watering cans and other potential containers for flowers and vegetables.
On Saturday, April 21, make your own colourful hanging basket, while also learning about drainage solutions.
The final event on April 22 is aimed at children. Let your kids pot their own sunflower, which they will then be allowed to take home for their own gardens.
One of the team members, Mandy Bate, said: “We’re pleased to be supporting National Gardening Week with our programme of events.
“We hope there will be something for everyone during the week, from those who want to encourage wildlife to their plots to seasoned gardeners who want to try something different, like unusual planters or making their own hanging baskets.”

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has confirmed plans to jet-wash blocked gullies in Leadenham following persistent flooding, which has left residents and businesses in constant fear of property damage during heavy rainfall.
The council intends to jet the A607 outside Leadenham Post Office as an urgent measure to mitigate ongoing flood risks, with a full clean scheduled for January. The announcement comes after a plea from Leadenham Parish Councillor Martyn Everett, who highlighted significant flooding along Sleaford Road.
