A former gym manager and a property developer have launched a new tanning salon in Lincoln.

The venture is managed by Micky Fidler, ex-sales manager for Total Fitness.

The idea came about after Colin, who owns CJH Developments Ltd, and Micky, got talking about business opportunities earlier this year.

Totally Tropical Tanning in Waterside South will create four jobs in the city and should be opening by the end of the week.

The unit was revamped by the duo and contains six upright 250-watt units. Visitors can drop in for three-minute sessions upwards or book specific appointments.

Fidler said: “Our priorities were finding the right location in the centre of Lincoln, at the right price, which we have and we are also close to parking facilities.”

The unit was let by Banks Long & Co on behalf of Lincolnshire Co-operative.

Surveyor Matthew Brooks said: “Units in the Waterside South and Sincil Street areas are particularly suited to start-up businesses or those who wish to relocate and expand their businesses into the area, but do no want to get tied-up in a long lease.

“Any other businesses that are looking to expand or relocate into the City Centre and want flexibility should contact us, as we have a number of units available because of the proposals for the £100 million Lindongate shopping centre that will be developed on the site.”
