Business waste fly tipper fined by council

Fly-tipping fine: A man caught fly-tipping has been forced to pay put over £800 in fines by the court.

A man caught fly tipping in Lincoln will now pay £815 in charges and fines.

Jonathan Tatton was caught by CCTV cameras disposing of business waste in a private skip along Farrier Road on October 29 2011, November 14 2011 and November 28 2011.

He was sent to Lincoln Magistrates Court, where he was ordered to pay a fine of £400, plus City of Lincoln Council costs of £300, a victim surcharge of £100 and court fee of £15.

Tony Garner, Enforcement Officer at the City of Lincoln Council, said: “Too many people think they can get away with fly tipping.

“We are sending out a strong message that fly tipping, in any form, is not acceptable in Lincoln.

“Action will be taken against you there is evidence that you have been involved in any fly tipping.”
