New Hartsholme Park bridge revealed

New design: Artist impressions of the potential design for a bridge in a Lincoln park are being put to the Planning Committee.

The new potential design for a bridge in Hartsholme Country Park in Lincoln has been revealed.

The new design images provided by the City of Lincoln Council, show a white metal bridge with a lattice pattern, and will be put before the Planning Committee later in January.

The original white bridge was removed on July 3, after the City Council declared it unsafe for public use.

Consultants investigating the condition of the bridge found that the piles below the waterline supporting the existing structure were sound, but that the timber deck and upper steel work needed replacement.

The design will need to gain approval from the Planning Committee at City Hall in the new year before the funding is finalised and the bridge is erected.
