Sincil Bank to host Lincoln Ladies football team

Better stadium: Lincoln Ladies will be playing all their 2013 home matches at the 12th Imp Sincil Bank stadium.

The 12th Imp Sincil Bank stadium will be hosting Lincoln Ladies Football Club for their home matches during the FA Women’s Super League season.

The collaboration comes after an agreement between The Football Association and Lincoln Ladies, meaning the female team will use the stadium throughout their 2013 campaign.

The team usually played at the sports ground on Ashby Avenue, near Hartsholme Park.

Lincoln City FC CEO Steve Prescott said: “I am absolutely delighted that Lincoln City Football Club will host all of Lincoln Ladies’ fixtures during 2013.

“This is a very exciting development for both clubs, and for the city of Lincoln, as Sincil Bank will prove to be a fitting venue for the FA Women’s Super League.

“Following several months of negotiations, I am really pleased that an agreement has finally been reached with the FA and Lincoln Ladies FC.

“This will not only generate valuable income for Lincoln City Football Club but will also enable us to produce and maintain a high quality playing surface that will withstand the rigours of both team’s seasons.”

Lincoln Ladies’ Chief Executive Luke Negus-Hill said: “We are delighted to have agreed a deal with Lincoln City to play our full season at Sincil Bank in the forthcoming FAWSL season.

“Their facility is top class and gives us one of the best venues in the league.

“We are confident playing at Sincil Bank will not only aid us in our campaign but also see an increase in the number of supporters attending our games.”
