Young woman injured in Lincoln Newland collision

Rushed to hospital: An 18-year-old woman has suffered a serious head injury in a collision with a car on Newland.

An 18-year-old woman has suffered a serious head injury in a collision with a car on Newland in Lincoln.

The incident happened at around 12.40pm when a green Renault Megane was in collision with the young woman in the pedestrian crossing area.

She was taken by ambulance to Lincoln County Hospital for treatment to what was described as a serious head injury.

Police attended and closed the road in the area while they carried out investigations. The road was reopened shortly after 1.30pm.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on the 101 non-emergency number.
