Police warning after bike thefts from sheds in Lincoln

Better security: Several bikes have been stolen from sheds in Lincoln this week and police are urging people to improve their shed security.

Several bikes have been stolen from sheds in Lincoln this week, so police are urging people to improve their shed security.

Since October 28, bikes have been stolen from back gardens and sheds in Nightingale Crescent, Cotman Road, Hartsholme Drive and Langworthgate in Lincoln.

Police are urging people not to leave bikes in gardens and to make sure sheds have good locks.

Officers say it is also sensible to cover the windows of sheds and to explore the possibility of fitting shed alarms, which are inexpensive and available from DIY shops.

Very expensive bikes should be kept in the house if possible, police advise.
