Bonfires across Lincoln are ready to spark for a Guy Fawkes night to remember. Here are the top fireworks displays this year around the city.
Kicking off the celebrations on November 2 will be the Witham St Hughs Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza. With the 2012 display attracting over 1500 attendees, and all enjoying the Rainbow Fireworks, this year’s celebrations are expected to be even bigger.
You can buy your tickets now at Witham St Hughs Village Hall and from many local businesses in the area. Tickets, in advance, cost £3 per person. On the gate, admission will be £5 each.
The evening starts at 5.30pm. Those attending the event will enjoy a licensed bar, hot food and a Guy Fawkes competition.
The Sturton by Stow bonfire will be lit at 6:30pm on November 2. Gates open at 5:30 and entry costs £4 for adults and £2 for under 14s. The event aims to raise money for the Sturton by Stow Primary School and Recreational Ground.
The Bassingham fireworks display will take place on Middlegate on Saturday November 2. The bonfire will start at 7pm and the fireworks display is scheduled to start at 7:30. Organisers ask for a donation on entry with funds raised providing the budget for next year’s event. The local scout group will be running a refreshment stand.
Lindum Sports Club will host their annual fireworks display from the sports ground on November 3 from 5pm. This family event will include a licensed bar and hot food and drink stalls.
Tickets for the Lindum Sports Club bonfire night event start at £3. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the Clubhouse, or you are welcome to pay on the gate.
The Bonfire night in Waddington on the village playing field is on November 5. The night starts at 6.45pm, with fireworks from 7.15pm. Free entry.
Clayton Sports Association, on Lee Road, will host a fireworks display on November 5. Gates will open at 6:30pm with the show set to begin at 7pm. There will also be a burger van serving hot food and refreshments.
Tickets for this event will cost £2 for adults, £1 for children and family tickets will cost £5.
The annual Lincolnshire Fireworks Display at the Lincolnshire Showground will take place on November 8 from 6.30pm onwards. The event will feature a children’s display, bonfire, funfair and food stalls.
The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and main display is set to begin at 8:45pm. Tickets on the gate cost £4 (children), £7 (adult) and £18 (family). To book, or for further information, visit the Lincolnshire Fireworks website.

The Lincoln Scout Group are hosting their 28th Bonfire Night event on November 9 at the Greenlands Outdoor Centre Larne Road. The night will run from 5.45pm until 8pm with food and drink and a bouncy castle. Tickets are available on the gate at £3 for adults, £1.50 for children and under 5’s go free. More details.
Note there will be no fireworks display at Sincil Bank this year. Organisers decided not to stage it after the event ran at a loss for the past two years.
