Entries now open for Lincoln Great Spring Chicken Run

Entries now open: Fundraisers can apply for the 2014 Lincoln Great Spring Chicken Run from today.

Entries are now open for the 2014 Lincoln Great Spring Chicken Run is a 5km run or a 2.5km fun run around Lincoln city centre, supporting first aid charity St John Ambulance.

The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Bailgate Lincoln, started processing applications on December 1, and those wishing to take part can apply on the St John Ambulance website.

Entry forms can also be obtained from Imp Travel at 17 Sincil Street, Lincoln, The Lincolnshire Runner at 115C High Street, Lincoln and from various clubs in the city centre.

The 2014 Lincoln Great Spring Chicken Run will be held on April 27. The entry fee is £10, or £5 for under 13s. This cost includes a free t-shirt.

Sarah Gerrard, Regional Fundraising Co-ordinator for St John Ambulance, said: “60% of the proceeds from this event will go towards St John Ambulance, therefore everyone taking part will be helping us to carry on our life saving work and help save more lives.

“At St John Ambulance we believe that no one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it.

“Everything we do works towards ensuring that wherever and whenever a first aid emergency occurs, someone is equipped with the skills to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.”
