Final preparations underway for Lincoln Christmas Market

Nearly ready: Uphill Lincoln is busy with traders and entertainment setting up for the annual Christmas Market.

Stallholders, businesses, entertainment and the City of Lincoln Council are busy getting the final details ready for the launch of Lincoln Christmas Market tomorrow afternoon.

The 31st Christmas Market will open from 12pm on December 5 through to 7pm on December 8, offering a variety of festive shopping and activities for the family.

The market will still host over 250 stalls, stocking all kinds of gifts and treats in time for Christmas, and plenty of entertainment and food, all against the backdrop of Lincoln Cathedral.

As previously reported, the City Council scrapped the one way system around the market, only using it at very busy periods.

Additionally, a number of extra improvements, such as an interactive visitor map, improved informational website, a discount for pre-booking park and ride tickets, and helpers called Market Makers.

Market Makers will offer some interesting insight about the city and market, answer questions and help anyone who needs it.

Jingle the Elf will be back on social media to also help anyone with questions, and offer plenty of market tips. The market also has a Facebook page to keep users updated.

Jingle will also be hosting a number of games, such as offering clues to answers you will be able to find around the market.
