Spike in thefts from vans in south Lincoln

Van thefts: A number of thefts from vans that could be linked have happened in Lincoln recently.

Lincolnshire Police are getting reports of a number of thefts from vehicles in a concentrated area of Lincoln.

The thefts, which officers believe might be linked, all happened in the Hartsholme and Boultham areas between December 2 and 5.

The offenders targeted vans overnight, stealing tools, in:

  • Lincoln Avenue on 03/12/2013 – Inc 32 of 04/12/2013
  • Western Avenue on 02/12/2013 – Inc 119 of 05/12/2013
  • Harrington Avenue on 03/12/2013 – same incident as above
  • Scampton Avenue on 05/12/2013 – Inc 51 of 06/12/2013

Investigating officer PC Steve Parker is appealing for witnesses to contact him on 07939896147, email [email protected], or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

He also advises members of the public to sign up to and get items registered on the site.

It helps police investigations greatly if there are serial numbers for stolen property to hand, so it can be identified and returned to owners.
