Lincoln parking discount for phone payments

Council parking deal: The City Council is discounting parking fares at two car parks when using phone payments.

Motorists parking in Tentercroft Street and Thornbridge car parks in Lincoln will pay 10% less when using the PayByPhone system.

People paying for parking in the two car parks by phone will be eligible for the discount between April 1 and the end of May.

The 10% offer will apply from Tuesdays to Sundays.

City of Lincoln Council is continuing the 25% discount on parking on Mondays for people using the PayByPhone service or app in any of its car parks.

The council will also be removing the 20p cashless parking service charge at all of its car parks.

Rod Williamson, City Services Team Leader, said: “We might be introducing this discount on April 1, but it’s certainly no April Fool.

“PayByPhone is a faster, more convenient and now a cheaper alternative to using a ticket machine, offering our customers a great way to pay, with no need for cash or card.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve our service and this offer will make it easier and cheaper for commuters, shoppers and visitors to pay for their parking.”
