Lincoln-inspired celebrations: Hardwood furniture retailer Oak Furniture Land is preparing to open its first Lincoln store after creating seven local jobs.

Hardwood furniture retailer Oak Furniture Land is preparing to open its first Lincoln store after creating seven local jobs.

The 17,000 sq ft store, which is located in the Tritton Retail Park unit formerly occupied by Comet, is the latest addition to their 2014 store expansion programme with a new opening every month.

Lincoln Oak Furniture Land will open on Saturday, August 23 at 9am.

On Sunday, August 24 Oak Furniture Land will be celebrating their opening by presenting a Lincoln-by-the-sea-inspired cake to city wardens.

The Mayor of Lincoln, Lincoln Business Improvement Group representatives and volunteer workers will be presented with the beach cake sculpture at the City Square attraction.

The cake has been designed by acclaimed Cake Artist Annabel de Vetten of Conjurers Kitchen and CakeBomb.

Store manager, Gavin Huggett says: “I am looking forward to opening the new superstore; welcoming customers through the door and helping them take advantage of our range of high quality furniture at great prices.

“To celebrate the official opening we’re offering customers some amazing offers in-store including up to 50% off selected items.

“We are looking forward to the Mayor of Lincoln and the Lincoln City Wardens officially opening the store, and welcoming customers through the door.”

The Mayor of Lincoln, Councillor Brent Charlesworth, said:  “This new Oak Furniture Land store is a welcome investment in terms of job creation, and is a nice addition to the choices of shops for local residents. I am delighted to be opening the superstore with the City Centre Wardens and giving them a big Lincoln City welcome.”

The Lincoln store opening times are: Monday to Friday from 9am to 8pm, Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday from 10.30am to 5pm.
