A Lincoln secondary school is celebrating winning a gold award for its performing and creative arts.
North Kesteven School in North Hykeham was awarded with the Trinity Guildhall Artsmark Gold Award.
The national award highlights the success of performing and creative arts in a school, as well as emphasising the strong commitment to its provision.
A selection of students being interviewed by a validator in order to gain the award.
Staff and students worked hard to obtain the award and the process included a selection of students being interviewed by the Artsmark validator.
When asked about how the performing and creative arts can have an impact on academic grades, the student interviewees said that they felt they impacted positively.
Mrs Norma Tutty JP, Chair of the Governors, said: “Congratulations to everyone involved in the work that led to our school being awarded the Artsmark Gold standard.
“It was a pleasure to meet the inspector, on behalf of the Governing Body, to discuss our longstanding belief in and commitment to the arts and performing arts.
“This is national recognition of the excellence that is the norm for our school and it is an outstanding achievement. As always, the students were our greatest ambassadors and did a wonderful job representing us.”
