Man dies in A46 Lincoln bypass collision

Fatal collision: A man has died following a crash on the A46 Lincoln on Wednesday evening.

A man has died following a crash on the A46 Lincoln on Wednesday evening.

The collision was between a car and a lorry on the A46 Lincoln bypass between the Skellingthorpe and Doddington Road roundabouts.

The incident happened just before 7pm on October 22 and the car, a BMW, caught fire as a result of it.

The BMW driver, whose details cannot yet be confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver was not reported injured.

The road remained closed until about 1am on Thursday.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw the collision or saw the BMW and the lorry prior to the collision to call the witness hotline on 01522 558855.

This is the 33rd person to be killed on Lincolnshire’s roads so far this year.
