Police issue leaflets at the scene of fatal Lincoln scooter collision

Investigation continues: Lincolnshire Police have issued leaflets to motorists in the area where a fatal collision between a car and a mobility scooter took place.

Lincolnshire Police have issued leaflets to motorists in the area where a fatal collision between a car and a mobility scooter took place.

82-year-old Jim Dakin was knocked from his mobility scooter by a passing car at around 11.50am on Friday, October 17 when he was travelling along the cycle lane on Newark Road towards Lincoln city centre.

His mobility scooter suffered a glancing blow from a passing vehicle which did not stop. This vehicle is yet to be traced.

He was thrown from the mobility scooter and was seriously injured. Mr Dakin has subsequently died.

Officers were in the vicinity on Friday, October 24, handing out the pamphlet to drivers as the investigation into the collision continues.
