Police appeal after burglars target Lincoln village

Village burglaries: Police are appealing for information and witnesses after two burglaries in the village of Heighington.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after two burglaries in the village of Heighington on Saturday, March 7.

The first burglary was reported at a property on High Street, in which a ground floor window was forced open between 2pm and 8pm. An Xbox, jewellery, and cash was stolen from the house.

The second incident took place at a house on Park Lane between 4.30pm and 8.30pm.

Offenders entered the property by forcing open a rear door, and a quantity of cash and jewellery was taken.

Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously at this time should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 428 or 438 of March 7.

Alternatively, people can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police are also urging householders to be vigilant by switching alarms on when going out and locking all doors and windows.
