Unique videos have been released, showing the moment Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Bomber paid a fitting tribute to the Lincoln Bomber Command memorial.

Lincoln witnessed a union like no other on Wednesday, October 14 as the last airworthy Lancaster Bomber in the UK paid tribute to the newly-unveiled memorial in Lincoln.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight aircraft flew from RAF Coningsby and spectacular views were captured by SAC Woodhouse.

After being grounded for five months, and missing commemorations which brought hundreds of veterans to the city, Thumper few again for the memorial and a veteran who thought his medals had been lost forever.

Donal Nicholson, 93, returned to Canwick Hill in Lincoln after a major search for his missing medals went viral.

His medals were found and Donald was pleased to return to the site to witness the historic Lancaster salute.
