Second uphill Lincoln petrol station closes for £150k of improvements

Replacing pipes: The Lincolnshire Co-op petrol station on Riseholme Road in Lincoln will be closed for a number of weeks.

A second petrol station in the uphill area of Lincoln has been closed for maintenance works.

The Lincolnshire Co-op filling station on Riseholme Road will be closed for a number of weeks for improvements.

A finishing date for the works has not been specified.

Work will include replacement of all underground pipe work and fitting new fuel dispensers.

Spokesperson for Lincolnshire Co-op Michelle Scott said: “We’re investing £150,000 in our Riseholme Road Filling Station for a range of improvements including replacing all underground pipe work and fitting new fuel dispensers.

“While this takes place over the next few weeks there will be no fuel sales.

“We’d like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused while we carry out this essential work.

“The food store will remain open throughout and our Winning Post Filling Station on Carholme Road is operating as usual.”

As previously reported, the Shell garage on Burton Road roundabout was closed for two months to replace pipes and the forecourt.
