Man charged with armed robbery of petrol station in Lincoln village

Remanded in custody: A 34-year-old man will appear before Lincoln Crown Court on January 18 charged with three robberies, including a petrol station near Lincoln.

A 34-year-old man has been charged with three robberies in August and September this year.

Darren Nicholls, of no fixed address, has been charged with the robbery at the Otters Bridge Service Station near Saxilby on August 13.

As previously reported, a man wearing a balaclava and carrying a knife entered the station, demanding money from the female member of staff inside.

Nicholls, who is from the Gainsborough area, has also been charged with an attempted robbery at McColls on Spital Terrace in the town on September 13, and a robbery on Market Street on September 21.

He appeared before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, December 19, and was remanded in custody to appear before Lincoln Crown Court on January 18 next year.

Lincolnshire Police would still like to hear from anyone with information in relation to any of these incidents.
