Met Office issues weather warning for snow in Lincolnshire

Snow alert: Areas of Lincolnshire face potential travel disruption later this week as a band of snow is expected to arrive in the region.

Areas of Lincolnshire face potential travel disruption later this week as a band of snow is expected to arrive in the region.

The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning from 8pm on Wednesday, February 17 until 10am on Thursday, February 18.

Forecasters have said that rain is likely to turn to sleet and snow in some places in Lincolnshire, before gradually easing and clearing away southeastwards.

Many places will see rain or sleet rather than snow but at least for some of the higher ground, and more locally at lower elevations, there may be a covering of snow – perhaps a few cm locally.

The Met Office has said that there is a possibility of localised disruption to travel.
