Work starts to repair water main leak in Lincoln

Beware road closures: Anglian Water is beginning work to repair a leaking water main in Lincoln.

Anglian Water is beginning work on the A57 junction with Long Leys Road in Lincoln from Wednesday, March 2, to repair a leaking water main.

Engineers will be working after the peak rush hour traffic on Wednesday morning and will be working round the clock to minimise disruption.

Work will start at 9:30am on March 2 and is hoped to be completed by Thursday evening, before the peak commuter rush hour.

During the works there will be two way traffic lights on the A57 and speed restrictions will be in place. Burton Lane will be closed at the Burton Waters roundabout for the duration of the work.

Sarah Dobson from Anglian Water said: “We know the repair will cause traffic disruption over the coming days and we are very sorry for this. We’ve worked closely with Lincolnshire Highways to reach a solution that allows us to complete the essential emergency repairs as quickly as possible.

“We’d like to apologise in advance to businesses, residents and road users, and thank them for their patience while we do all we can to complete this work swiftly.”
