Man charged with murder of Lincolnshire teenage girl

Police have charged a man with the murder of a 16-year-old girl from Lincolnshire.

Hannah Pearson, of Marston, died after being rushed to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham following an incident in Newark at the weekend.

Ambulance crews tried to resuscitate the girl but she died shortly after arriving at hospital.

James Morton, 23, of Pierson Street, Newark, was arrested after Nottinghamshire Police officers attended his home address in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Morton is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on July 27.
