Major rail disruptions are expected after a person was hit by a train near Lincoln.

The incident happened just before 5pm on Monday, July 11 near to Metheringham, between the Lincoln and Sleaford stations.

East Midlands Trains has warned that delays will be ongoing across the route.

An eyewitness told The Lincolnite police and an ambucopter are in attendance in Heighington in the Sheepwash Road.

The line is expected to reopen at 7pm.
