Police have identified the victim of a heinous racist abuse incident on the Brayford waterfront in Lincoln and are continuing their search for the two good samaritans who helped her.

As reported previously, the woman, who was wearing a burka, was subject to racially aggravated verbal abuse at the Sports Bar on the Brayford at around 10.13am on Wednesday, August 17.

Two other women spoke to the victim afterwards and checked how she was, and officers would like to speak to them about what they witnessed.

Inspector Suzanne Davies, of Community Policing in Lincoln, said: “I would like these good Samaritans, and anyone else who may be able to help to contact my team so that we can fully investigate this incident.

“I am very grateful this incident has been reported to us. Such behavior should not be tolerated by anybody, we will always support victims of hate crime and fully investigate this and any hate crime offences.”

Anyone who witnessed this incident or has information that will help our investigation is asked to call on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 243 of August 17.
