The man in charge of the trust which runs Lincolnshire’s hospitals will be answering your questions on A&E and other healthcare issues in a live question and answer chat with The Lincolnite next week.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust chief executive Jan Sobieraj will be at The Lincolnite offices from 9am on Monday, August 22, with the live video chat scheduled to last around half an hour.

The web chat will be live streamed to over 72,000 people on The Lincolnite Facebook page and shared on our sister publication, Lincolnshire Reporter.

The trust has faced a number of challenges over the past year regarding recruitment, finance, and failing to meet government targets.

Most recently, the trust made the decision to close Grantham’s A&E department from 6.30pm until 9am for at least three months.

The trust said that it does not have enough doctors to fill shifts in three departments 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and may put patients at risk if it does not act now.

At present, the trust is also unable to recruit locums, so consultant doctors have filled the gaps by doing extra shifts.
