Six Lincolnshire businesses have secured a place in the final stage of the East Midlands Family Business Awards.

Organised by The Wilson Organisation, the seventh annual awards are the only independent initiative to celebrate and recognise the region’s family run and owned enterprises in a range of sectors from healthcare to agriculture.

Among the 31 finalists across the East Midlands are Lincoln-based The Elite Fish and Chip Company, Obam Stairlifts and Orderwise as well as Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa, Ramsden International in Grimsby and Caistor-based Systematic Print Management.

Elite Fish and Chips are finalists in the Corporate Social Responsibility award whilst Obam Stairlifts and Orderwise will be competing against each other for Employer of the Year.

This year, the finalists will also be competing for the People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Lincoln-based Streets Chartered Accountants, which will be put to the public vote.

Emma Brealey, Director of Petwood Hotel said: “I am delighted to be shortlisted in the Midlands Family Business Awards for Director of the Year.

“There has been a strong response from family businesses across the East and West Midlands and so to be considered among the top entrants for this award is a huge honour.

“The Petwood team and I are also enormously excited about our entry in the People’s Choice Award, decided by a public vote which runs from Monday, October 3 to Monday, October 31.

“We urge readers to support the Lincolnshire finalists in this category and continue the legacy of Lincolnshire’s success in these business awards.”

Winners will be announced at a special dinner at Birmingham’s Great Hall on Thursday, November 17.

Managing Director of The Wilson Organisation, Charlotte Perkins, said: “This year’s entries demonstrate the exceptional pedigree of the Midlands’ family businesses, and the finalists together prove the family business sector’s vital contribution to the region’s economy.

“We wish all finalists the very best in the final round.”
