A former online Lincoln tourism guide has been revived as a new glossy magazine dedicated to promoting the city to its thousands of annual visitors.

The Love Lincoln brand is being brought back by the team behind The Lincolnite as an A4 magazine.

Love Lincoln was previously an online guide for tourists in the years before Visit Lincoln was established in 2011 and has since been taken down. The brand was then purchased by Stonebow Media in 2016.

Following consultation with a number of hotels, it was felt there was a real need for more information that could be given to visitors to help them make the most of their trip.

Published seasonally, the first edition is expected to be released in time for the Lincoln Christmas Market.

Daniel Gower, Marketing Executive at magazine partners Doubletree by Hilton Lincoln said: “Lincoln is already an amazing city with something for everyone.

The glossy magazine will feature the best of the city's evens, businesses and attractions, aimed at reaching the city's visitors.

“Being part of Love Lincoln is another platform which everyone from independent local businesses to corporate companies can come together and showcase who they are and what they do, from exploring beautiful history, enjoying a drink and bite to eat, or, relaxing after a busy day shopping with somewhere stay.

“Coming together will only make our city stronger, showing tourists, visitors and guests exactly why we love Lincoln, giving them more to look forward to, visit and try when they return.”

The magazine, which will by published seasonally, will be distributed directly to tourists in hotel rooms as well as available for collection in a number of key venues around the Greater Lincoln area.

The first issue is due out in time for the Lincoln Christmas Market.

Stonebow Media Director and founder of the Love Lincoln magazine Dean Graham said: “Following the huge influx of visitors to Lincoln thanks in part to the Magna Carta celebrations and the fantastic relaunch of Lincoln Castle, it is important to keep pushing Lincoln as a tourist destination in 2017 and beyond.

“It’s been really heartening to see Lincoln businesses come together in a joint effort to get Love Lincoln off the ground and have something dedicated to promoting the very best of what Lincoln has to offer.”
