Lines reopen after car struck by train at Lincolnshire crossing

Trains were halted after collision with a car on the track between Cleethorpes and Barton-on-Humber this morning. Trains were halted after collision with a car on the track between Cleethorpes and Barton-on-Humber this morning.

The car had been at the level crossing near Barrow Haven when it was struck by a train at around 7am, causing delays across rush hour timetables.

Network Rail apologised for inconvenience while the line was cleared.

British Transport Police said that no one was injured as a result of the crash with minor damage caused to the train and the car.

Buses replaces trains between Uleceby and Barton-on-Humber for a period before the line was reopened at around 10am.
