Police name woman struck by train in Spalding

Police have now named the woman who died after being hit by a train in Spalding. As previously reported, at 8.25 am on Saturday, October 8, police found the body of a woman on a railway line near to Green Lane in Spalding. The body is believed to be that of a 28-year-old woman, Bahrathi Palanisamy.…

Police have now named the woman who died after being hit by a train in Spalding.

As previously reported, at 8.25 am on Saturday, October 8, police found the body of a woman on a railway line near to Green Lane in Spalding.

The body is believed to be that of a 28-year-old woman, Bahrathi Palanisamy.

Bahrathi was reported missing prior to her body being discovered.

Bahrathi is described as an Asian female, 5’3” tall, with long dark hair.

At the time she was wearing a blue coat, and dark blue jeans, with black trainers.

Police are treating the death as unexplained and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen Bahrathi or anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area of the railway near to Green Lane or St John’s Road, in Spalding between the times of 8pm on Friday, October 7 and 8.25am on Saturday, October 8.

A post mortem examination is due to take place later this week.
