A 46-year-old woman has been badly bruised after being attacked from behind on her walk home in Scunthorpe.

The woman was attacked from behind as she walked home from a night out on Grange Lane South at the junction with Ashby High Street.

The incident happened at 9pm on October 8.

She was badly bruised in the assault which she believes involved a group of three people.

During the assault a member of the public came to her assistance which stopped the incident.

Police are now asking that the person who rescued the woman or anyone who witnessed the assault should call 101 quoting incident number 2220132.
