Temporary traffic signals will be in place to control northbound and southbound traffic on the A15 Riseholme Road.

A signed diversion will be via Carholme Road, Yarborough Hill, Riseholme Road, Longdales Road and the B1182.

Lincolnshire County Council says there will also be extensive maintenance work to make the most efficient use of the closure.

This includes cleaning of surface water drainage systems, refurbishment of damaged vehicle crash barrier in the central reserve, replacement of old-style street lighting units with modern LED units, a litter pick and grass cutting operations.

Paul Little, Lincolnshire County Council Network Manager said: “This investment in essential works on the A46 will ensure this busy road will remain in good condition for several years, and works will take place overnight to minimise disruption to drivers and residents.

“The works should be completed on schedule, provided there are no unexpected periods of freezing weather.”
