The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow across parts of Lincolnshire this week.

The yellow warning (advising awareness) is in place from noon on Tuesday, November 8 until 9am on Wednesday, November 9, and predicts snow during the afternoon and evening, with temperatures dropping to 0°C.

The warning has been issued over most parts of Lincolnshire down towards Lincoln, Boston and Spalding.

The Met Office warns that snow accumulations of 4-8 cm are likely in places, but snow would ease gradually through Wednesday morning.

The chief forecaster’s assessment at the time of writing has said: “A band of rain spreading slowly in will turn to snow as it encounters cold air.

“Whilst this will be mainly on high ground, and heavier bursts could easily bring snow down to low levels.

“Overnight into Wednesday morning, there are concerns that heavier bursts could bring snow more widely down to low levels over parts of eastern England, though at this stage there is low confidence.”
