A group of child singers are jumping for joy after their single in aid of the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln reached the top spot in the physical singles chart.

Youngstars, a group selected by songwriter Jim Dooley of 70s pop group The Dooleys, released the single ‘Tears of the Wold’ on November 11.

All money raised will go towards the building of the IBCC on Canwick Hill in Lincoln, which will honour the 58,000 servicemen and women who lost their lives at war.

The group are keeping their fingers crossed that the track will conquer more top spots after achieving Number 1 in the official physical chart top 100 this week.

The physical singles top 100 is compiled by the Official Charts Company and counts the sale of CDs, vinyl and other physical formats every week.

Youngsters said on social media: “We are so pleased. Thank you so much to everyone who purchased copies. Keep buying, let’s see if we can get to Number 1 next week”.
