Councillors will decide on plans for 86 ‘affordable’ homes to be built on farmland in Boston.
The proposals submitted would see the homes built on public open space and associated works land north of Puritan Way.
If the plans go ahead, the housing mix would consist of two and three storey dwellings and apartments as both semi-detached and terraced properties.
The application site covers around 2.20 hectares of land, which is currently in agricultural use.
It lies within high risk flood zone near to the River Witham and is close to a small group of large detached dwelling houses with access off Fenside Road.
The proposed development includes plans to raise existing ground levels by around one metre to meet flood risk requirements.
This scheme has been subject to a number of amendments since original submission. It was previously for 87 properties, however, following the changes, the application is now for 86 homes.
It has been recommended that permission is given for the application.
A decision will be made by Boston Borough Council’s planning committee on February 7.
