Fire crews called to blaze at Lincoln village farm

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have been called out to a fire at a farm in Nocton this afternoon. Four pumps are being used to extinguish the blaze, which started at around 1.30pm on Sleaford Road. Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have been called out to a fire at a farm in Nocton this afternoon.

Four pumps are being used to extinguish the blaze, which started at around 1.30pm on Sleaford Road.

Update: Damage was caused to two tonnes of rape seed within the silo and the silo was also lightly heat damaged.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the cause has been put down to spontaneous combustion of the seed.
